Amit Kishan Behera is a Senior Materials Design Engineer at QuesTek Innovations LLC, where he specializes in computational materials design and the development and implementation of thermodynamic, kinetic, and mechanistic models for materials design projects. He is a passionate researcher who strives to deliver practical solutions and products using his expertise in materials science. Amit's work is focused on the computational design of new alloys utilizing QuesTek's Materials by Design approach, which incorporates a wide range of ICME-based methods and tools followed by experimental prototyping, testing, and material qualification. Some examples of alloy systems he has worked on include high-performance steels, ceramic composites, and magnesium alloys optimized for traditional manufacturing routes as well as newer additive manufacturing techniques. Before joining QuesTek Innovations LLC, Amit completed his doctoral research work at Northwestern University, where he focused on the computational materials design of advanced high-strength sheet steels in collaboration with ArcelorMittal. He has also worked on projects involving experimental characterization of precipitation behavior in titanium alloys during his master's studies at the University of North Texas.
